ArtReach is excited to join in on another year of San Diego Gives, a day that brings our community together in a celebration of generosity and support for local nonprofits. As we launch our End of Year giving campaign, we invite you to discover the impactful work we’re doing in the San Diego community. Your support today fuels our mission to ignite the creative spark in every young artist and keep our programs accessible to all.

Since our founding in 2007, ArtReach has joyfully empowered over 75,000 students through in-school artist residencies, mural projects, community workshops, and meaningful partnerships. For countless young people who might not otherwise have access to visual arts opportunities, we strive to fill this gap by providing meaningful and lasting creative experiences.

Teaching Artists develop visual arts curricula focused on social-emotional learning. Students explore various art materials, master new techniques, and learn about historical, modern, and contemporary artists, creating connections between their artwork and the world around them.

Mural Artists collaborate directly with youth and community members of all ages to design and paint murals at schools and community sites. Murals provide an opportunity for youth and the broader San Diego community to create something transformative and lasting for their space.

Artist-led creative youth development programs and in-house community workshops at ArtReach HQ offer fresh opportunities beyond regular school hours. Our spacious new studio welcomes participants of all ages—whether littles, elementary-aged children, teens, adults, or entire families—to come and create together.

Have you heard the exciting news? ArtReach has moved into a new 6,000 sq. ft. building in the heart of Hillcrest! We’re absolutely thrilled about this incredible opportunity to grow our in-house community programs and bring even more creative joy to people of all ages. With two brand-new classrooms, we can now welcome over 2,100 participants each year, offering vibrant visual arts workshops that inspire and connect our community.

We recently celebrated with a Community Art Day, where over 200 community members joined us to paint a stunning mural on the side of our building, explore our new space, and paint birdhouses to take home. It was a day full of creativity, connection, and excitement as we opened our doors for the very first time. And we’re just getting started! We’re kicking off our new season of in-house workshops with a full week of FREE art classes from October 1st-5th, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll create together.

Join us as we continue to grow, inspire, and bring the joy of art to young artists.
