This vibrant mural celebrates Lemon Grove pride, teamwork, and community spirit. Designed by Esteban Sánchez, it draws inspiration from Lemon Grove Academy Middle 8th-grader Brianna G.’s winning design, selected through a workshop and contest hosted by ArtReach and San Diego FC. Brianna’s original artwork captured the essence of youth soccer, featuring teammates on the bench and a player triumphantly scoring a goal.

The mural expands on her concept, reimagining the same five children playing on the field, framed by lemon trees that represent the Lemon Grove community. Bright colors echo San Diego FC’s palette, while the sun, shaped like their logo, symbolizes energy and unity. The design embodies sportsmanship, joy, and local pride, creating a lively backdrop for the field used by the school and the Lemon Grove community.
