Community workshops at Studio HQ aim to enhance visual arts education for San Diego residents by facilitating direct connections between local artists and the public. These programs offer a range of low-cost hands-on art workshops for participants of all ages and skill levels, providing a nurturing and welcoming creative space that encourages self-expression and fosters a supportive learning environment for all.


This fun and engaging Sensory Art Exploration is a fun and engaging art class for toddlers ages 1-3. In this introduction to creative play, children are free to explore various art materials in a safe, open environment with no formal instruction.

Children ages 2-11 explore a wide range of techniques in drawing, painting, mixed media, and more, with a focus on process-based learning and social-emotional learning themes. Family classes encourage collaborative artmaking for kids & adults to create together.

Creative development for teens ages 11-17 through process-based curriculum and a variety of different visual art mediums. These sessions encourage creative exploration while refining techniques and developing their unique artistic voice.

Beginner-friendly art classes for people of all ages. These opportunities establish a nurturing and creative space that encourages self-expression and fosters a supportive learning environment for all.


Parking: We have limited space in our parking lot for drop off and pick up. There is free and metered all-day parking on nearby streets if you are staying for class.

Seats are limited: If you would like to add on a ticket for a friend, reach out and we will try to accommodate your needs.

Something came up and you can’t make it? Please email us. Refunds are not available for no-shows, but credit will be provided for a future class at Studio HQ if you cancel at least 24 hours before the class.
